Tom Welling's Been Busy

Thu October 8th 2009 @ 4:47AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Not only does Tom Welling star in probably The CW's only chance at getting good ratings on a Friday, 'Smallville', but he's also become a Co-Executive Producer. (Do I need to remind you to tune in? Show Tom and the show some love, it's probably had the best start of any season since the Fifth season...)

On top of that, if that didn't make him busy enough, Variety has reported that Tom Welling's production company, Tom Welling Productions, is developing a TV series for The CW. He's working with Warner Brothers TV and a former producer of ABC's Desperate Housewives, Kevin Murphy.

See the complete article HERE.

Way to go Tom. Hope there's enough time in the day for you to fit all that work in. You're probably the busiest man in TV.

Tom signs for a Rumored Tenth Season and the Final Episode Airs Tomorrow!

Wed May 13th 2009 @ 2:59PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

There is good news and bad news in the rumor, but it is now being reported (or rumored) that Tom hasn't just signed for one more season but for two!

My good friend over at KryptonSite, Craig Byrne, reported this over on his rumor page so I don't know if that is news or is just a rumor, but I think it is good and bad news. Good news because we get to see Tom playing Clark for potentially for two more years, but the flip side of that equation is that we probably won't see him in the movies any time soon.

That'd be a shame, so I hope his shiny new contract includes guaranteed feature film deals and gives hard-working Tom a much deserved raise. He is probably propping up the flagging The CW almost by himself (I don't think that Smallville would still be on the air if anyone else had been cast as Clark). As for any potential film deals, Tom has shown some real talent in Smallville, so it'd be a shame if that talent wasn't displayed for all the world to see (instead of just for a rabidly devoted, if tiny, Smalllville fanbase).

Anyway, I also wanted to remind people that tomorrow night is the Season 8 Finale episode which looks like some things will be happening that you won't want to miss!

Be sure to tune in and show Tom and Smallville some love!

Here is a picuture from this week's episode thanks to Andreas, The CW and Warner Brothers:

Another New Smallville Tonight and Tom Directed It!

Thu May 7th 2009 @ 3:22PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I just wanted to remind everyone that there was another new episode up for tonight, the second to last of the season, and Tom Welling directed it.

I'm not doing spoilers, but from what I've seen it looks like it will be another exciting episode for Clark. Be sure to tune in!

Thanks to Andreas, The CW and Warner Brothers, here is an image from tonight's episode:

Another New Smallville Tonight!

Thu April 30th 2009 @ 2:45PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

This season's been one of the best, aside from a few bad apples.

There is another new episode tonight. It looks like another good one, so be sure to tune in.

Thanks to Andreas, The CW and Warner Brothers, here is an image from the episode.

Happy Birthday Tom!

Fri April 24th 2009 @ 8:59PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I know it's a few days early, Tom's birthday is actually this Sunday, April 26th, but I want to go ahead wish him a very happy 32nd birthday!

I hope you have a good one!

Another New Smallville Tonight and Tom's subject of another poll!

Thu April 23rd 2009 @ 3:05PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I know I've been seriously slacking in updating the site. Actually, it's a shame. I should try harder to find something to post, but sometimes real life intrudes and Tom being so reclusive doesn't help.

Anyway, I just wanted to remind everyone that there is another new episode tonight, the first of the last four of the year. We do have Season 9 to look forward to, but this season has probably been one of the best. So show Tom (and Smallville) some love and be sure to tune in.

It looks like it'll be another good episode. And don't forget Tom has again directed an episode this year, "Injustice." It will be coming up in a couple of weeks on May 7th.

Tom Welling Season 8 promo, thanks to Andreas and The CW!

The poll that Tom is on regards the potential casting for the lead in a new film under development with Disney. It is a movie that I think Tom Welling would be perfect for.

The film in question is an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars series. Tom is one of the potential actors listed in a poll over on a fansite for the film.

I had read those books when I was a teen and Tom nearly perfectly fits the physical description of John Carter, an immortal American Civil War veteran transported inexplicably to Mars. The film has at its helm the award winning director of "Finding Nemo" and "Wall-E," Andrew Staunton, and will be a co-production between Pixar and Disney. It's currently thought to be a mix of live-action and CGI.

Michael Chabon, the talented Pulitzer Prize winning novelist who wrote Wonder Boys and contributed to the film story for Spider-Man 2 has been set to pen the script. The film is currently aiming for a 2012 release.

If this film gets made, Tom would be perfect for the part. Go on over and vote in the poll if you agree.

Look at the site HERE and cast your vote for Tom HERE.

Cross your fingers for Tom to be considered for the part. The talent already onboard is stellar so it'd be a good film for him since it would be completely different than SMALLVILLE.

New Episode Tonight! Oh, and Tom is on a Hottest Sci-Fi Stars list over on TV Guide.com

Thu January 15th 2009 @ 4:33PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

This season has been possibly the best of the series and there's finally a new episode tonight, so be sure to catch it! I'm sure Tom will look as awesome as ever.

TV Guide even thinks Tom is one of the hottest Sci-Fi stars on TV. In their new list, they place Tom in third, which is a shame.

I do love Jared and Jensen from Supernatural, they are both seriously cute, but Tom should have probably have been number one.

The Smallville Season Starts Tomorrow!

Thu September 18th 2008 @ 3:06AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

If you're a big Tom Welling fan, and I know you are if you're reading this, you will no doubt know that Smallville starts back up in the US tomorrow.

Please tune in and show Tom your support! I'm staying away from spoilers, but I have seen a few of the very spoilery images from the opening episode "Odyssey" over on our sister site, KryptonSite, and Tom is looking terrific.

I hope everyone remembers to tune or remembers to fire up the VCR or TiVo to watch it delayed!

Tom Named one of TV's Sexiest by TV Guide Readers!

Mon August 4th 2008 @ 7:16PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

You know I love it when I get to gush about Tom in print, so there's no surprise that I had to post this news item.

TV Guide.com posted a list of the top Sexiest TV Stars from Sci-Fi/Fantasy series (as voted by readers) and Tom naturally made the list. You can see him on the list HERE, but the quoted online comment from BLUEMOON2 says it all:

"The most beautiful man in Hollywood is perfect: the tall and muscular body, the chiseled cheek bones, the pouty lips, those clear green eyes and devastating blinding smile. He's the whole package!"

Tom's Directing Again in Season 8

Mon August 4th 2008 @ 5:08AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Not much to this story, a leaked list of directors for the 8th (and possibly final) season of Smallville, but since one particular name is on the list, I feel I must spread it around.

My friend over on KryptonSite, Craig Byrne, found an alleged list of directors over on the IMDB forums for Smallville. You can find the full list on the Rumorville section of KryptonSite, but it has Tom listed as directing the as of yet unnamed 16th episode.

If anything more comes out about this, you know that I'll be sure to report on it. Tom has done so well with his previous directing assignments, I can't wait to see what he'll do next.

Is There any such Thing as Nice Gossip?

Sat July 5th 2008 @ 4:01AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I'm not sure I've ever heard of such a thing, but there's a blog by an Entertainment Lawyer that posts "Blind Items" on the rich and famous in LA in his Crazy Days and Nights blog. A few months back he had some nice gossip to share about a certain actor.

Yesterday, he posted this item when he revealed who the actor was, but I'm sure you can guess who it might be since I only ever post items about two particular actors:

I feel like most of the kindness items lately have revolved around women. That is all well and good, but it is nice to hear that guys can be kind as well. This one involves an actor who would be A list by the definition that he is the star of a long running dramatic television series. Films? He's done a couple, but is really known for his television role. Age? Not old, not aging, but not in his twenties anymore either.

Our actor is married, and she should be included as well in this kindness since she is part of it. Every two weeks or so, no matter where he is, our actor stops into a local toy store. Generally a big chain, but no love from me since they make him pay retail. Our actor spends $1000 every two weeks like clockwork. When he was filming and kept going to the same store every two weeks, someone asked him why he was buying so many toys every few weeks.

Turns out our actor, stockpiles about 75% of the toys he buys all year long and at Christmas time donates them all to organizations like Toys For Tots, etc. The other 25% he sends to various children's hospitals throughout the year.

You know the best part? The guy doesn't need publicity to keep doing it.

Tom Welling

As if I wasn't a huge fan of Tom's already, this would make me become one. The man goes out of his way to buy toys for sick and needy kids, but doesn't do it for publicity or to make himself look good. He does it, apparently, just because it's the right thing to do.

Just how awesome is that?

Way to go, Tom. You're a Superman in real life too.

Thanks to tasabian over on LiveJournal for the link.

Vote for Tom!

Tue June 24th 2008 @ 6:35PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Tom is up for another silly internet poll, but you know me. I just want him to win. This time, he's up for the "Favorite Character to Come to Your Rescue" over on TV.com.

I love the Winchester boys, I really do, but I think most Tom Welling fans would agree that they'd rather be saved by Superman...

Tom Listed as One of TV's Fittest Stars by TV Guide

Mon June 2nd 2008 @ 7:30PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I wonder if Tom's publicist is getting chummy with the people over at TV Guide or whether they've finally bought a clue and now realize how truly hot Mr. Thomas J. Welling is? In any case, Tom's again made another list over on the TV Guide site.

This time he's been picked as one of the Fittest Stars on TV. I can't say as I blame them. The 7th season had it moments, it wasn't the most consistent season of the show ever, but it's nice to hear that at least Tom looked good.

The Smallville Season Finale airs Tonight.

Thu May 15th 2008 @ 12:48PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Don't forget to tune in to the 7th Season Finale episode, "Arctic," which airs tonight in the US.

It's sure to be a very good one for Tom Welling fans, so don't miss it.

Don't Forget to Watch "Quest" Tonight!

Thu May 8th 2008 @ 7:00PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Despite the stellar episode that Tom directed last week, ratings were down for Smallville, so I just wanted to remind everyone in the US to watch the new episode, "Quest," that's airing tonight.

It looks like another Clark-centric episode so I'm sure there will be plenty of Tom-Goodness...

Be sure to tune in!

Tom at the Met!

Wed May 7th 2008 @ 1:26AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

You remember when I posted the fact that the US May edition of Vogue was going to have Tom posing? Well, Conde Nast (the publisher of Vogue) co-sponsored the Metropolitan Museam of Art Costume Institute show based on style influenced by Superheroes.

Of course, Clark Kent/Superman was one of the characters featured in the exhibit so Tom Welling went to the show's Grand Opening. He hob-nobbed with people you might have heard of: George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and even David Beckham and Posh Spice.

I hope he had a good time because he certainly looked good.

Keep an eye out for stories and more images from the party, but here's a quick write up from E! Online on the exclusive after-party he went to that doubled as George Clooney's 47th Birthday Bash.

I hope this increased visibility is a sign that Tom is shrugging off his camera shy ways when it comes to getting some positive press.

Thanks to Serene for the link to the write-up about Clooney's birthday party...

Tom's Next Directorial Effort Airs Tonight!

Thu May 1st 2008 @ 5:01AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

If you've seen the my posts the last month or two, you probably are aware that Tom's episode is airing tonight in the US.

I've seen some reaction around the web from our Canadian friends that had seen it Wednesday night. As far as I could tell, while trying to avoid spoilers, it would appear Tom did an oustanding job both as an actor and as a director. The early reviews appear all to be positve.

Let's help make this very important episode for Tom be a successful one. Don't forget to tune in!

Another behind the scenes TV Guide Featurette from Apocalypse

Wed April 30th 2008 @ 1:52AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I'm beginning to think that TV Guide Channel loves Tom, they have yet another behind-the-scenes look at the making of this week's episode.

This piece is about the same length as the one I posted last week and there are some sections that are the same, but this time we see more of Tom in action behind the scenes. Also, we hear from James Marsters and Erica Durance and what they thought of Tom as a director.

Take a look, but be warned that it is spoilery so spoiler-phobes should probably give this a pass.

A Couple of Clips from Tom's next Directorial Effort

Sun April 27th 2008 @ 5:34PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I don't like linking to The CW's site because I can't always get their content to play and I'm in the US. So, I feel extra bad for the Tom Welling fans in the rest of the world who can't see the content at all.

So, here I'll put up some Youtube clips from the next episode, which Tom also directed, "Apocalypse." These are very spoilery, so if you don't like being spoiled pass these on by until after you've seen the episode.

Here is the extended version of the trailer:

Here is the terrific Diretor's cut which Clark doesn't show up in until the end, but it's just so good. If this brief clip, not even a minute long, is this good, can you imagine how wonderful the rest of it will be?

Happy 31st Birthday, Tom!
