Will Tom really be in the New Justice League film?
Sat August 25th 2007 @ 5:22PM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
The plot thickens....
Supermanhomepage has a quote from Smallville showrunner/Exec Producer Al Gough saying that Tom has NOT been approached to do the JLA film, further elaborating:
On our companion site, KryptonSite, Craig also got a similar quote from Mr. Gough."Hasn't happened, won't happen. He is under contract to Smallville through season 8."
Meanwhile, over on IESB, they noted the LA Times has confirmed they're aiming to get the film done before the pending strikes.
IESB also stands by their claim that Tom has been approached and are poo-pooing the SHP news item saying they've tripled checked their sources and said "all indications are that Tom Welling in fact is a go on WB’s side."
So, who's right and who's wrong here?
I guess at this point only time will tell...
Is Tom heading to the big screen again?

I think it's pretty safe to say that the casting rumors that have been floating around the net all week weren't just wishful thinking.
According to the people over at IESB, and they've checked and double-checked several sources, Tom is close to getting the role of Superman in the new Justice League of America film. They even put Tom's picture on their main page, they're so excited about being the ones to break the news.
The film is on a fast track as they try to get together the production before the looming strike deadlines for the Actor and Director Guilds come next June, so I think Tom's looking good for the part.
He's handy and he's already shown he can play the role. It will make casting Clark far easier than the laborious nationwide searches before that brought us previous feature Supermen and, well, Tom... With the pressure they're under to get things done quickly, I think IESB's report is more than just a rumor.
Read IESB.net for more.
We should hear soon whether the alleged "talks" with Tom and the Smallville producers are successful and he's got a new project for all his fans to see in the theatres the summer of 2009.
I'll post more as I hear it... Stay tuned.
Tom Voted Best Actor on KryptonSite
Mon August 6th 2007 @ 4:53AM - Cindy - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
In a landslide, Tom Welling was voted the Best Actor over on tomwelling.org's affiliated site, KryptonSite.
Here is what our friend Craig, the webmaster over there, had to say about Tom:
Also, in related news, Clark won for Favorite Character. Here is what Craig said about that:For the third year in a row, Tom Welling has achieved the KryptonSite Award for Best Actor on Smallville.
This year, Tom not only showed off his improvement as an actor but also directed an episode of the show's sixth season.
Out of 9994 votes, Tom got 6520 of them for Best Actor, walking away with 65% of the vote.
If you look at the other catagories, Clark-centric moments dominated in the favorites voted on by KryptonSite members: Favorite Scene of the season (Justice League leaving the burning 33.1 facility), Favorite Special Effect (Bizarro flying), and Favorite Couple (Clark/Lana).Though you'd never know from some of the early episodes of Season Six, Smallville is the story of Clark Kent before he is Superman. It's only expected that he gets Favorite Character, right?
Either way, 37% of the 11,333 who voted named him their favorite character.
Keep in mind that no "ballot stuffing" was possible. Only one vote per IP address was counted, so I think that says a lot about the devotion of Tom's fans.
Thanks to all who voted for Tom and Clark and thanks to Craig for keeping track of it all!
