Weekend Round-Up
Mon March 27th 2006 @ 12:06PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment
TV Guide Channel's 25 Things You Didn't Know About Supernatural TV aired last night, and Cindy sent along the video clip of Smallville's mentions on the show. The first clip came from a segment about shows filmed in Vancouver, Canada, although the main focus was on Supernatural - perhaps unsurprisingly. The second segment was about Tom Welling's initial hesitation to audition for the role of Clark Kent; and how the runner-up was none other than Jensen Ackles, who, erm, appeared on Smallville during season four, and now stars in Supernatural. Go figure. Jensen noted that he often plays golf with Tom, and that they're still good friends. Note to self: learn to play golf, it might be an "in". So anyway, here's the video clip.
The WB has also released their official description for 'Fragile', and now there's absolutely no question that Tom directed the episode. Not that there was really any question to start with, but hey. Official confirmation is good. I just hope the episode lives up to the expectation! I'm sure Tom did well, but the story sounds slightly iffy. Ah well.
In Cheaper By The Dozen 2 news, the official UK site has been updated with a blurb about the Region 2 DVD release on April 3rd. I'm still surprised that the UK is getting the DVD before the US ... we haven't even got the DVD of The Fog over here yet! I'll probably get over the shock soon enough.
And speaking of The Fog, it's one of the options in the 2006 Spacey Awards "Space Choice: Best Horror Movie" category. The public can't vote on the Space Choice categories, and given the other choices in the category I'll be surprised if The Fog wins. Still, toes are crossed. Meanwhile, in the Viewers Choice, Smallville is only featured in two categories. The entire cast is an option in the "Fave TV Ensemble Cast" category, and James Marsters gets a nod in the "Fave New TV Character" category, for his performance as Professor Milton Fine/Brainiac.
The Spacey Awards air on Canada's Space Channel on Saturday, May 27th.
And last, but by no means least, I hope to get rid of this dark site design in the next week or so. I still haven't finished the huge rebuild that I've been mentioning for months, but as a stop-gap measure a lighter, airier design is well on the way to being ready. The site will probably be closed for a few hours when I make the update, so don't worry if you find the site inaccessible at any time soon.

With regards to your choice to change the site design from the present 'dark'/black to a 'lighter/airier' design, may I say that I like the black/white format just fine? But hey, it's yours to do with as you will, so I'll wait and see how it turns out!
I also hope it won't be down too long during the 'changeover' as your site is one that I'm seriously addicted to.
