In what had almost become a foregone conclusion, estimates from Sony Pictures indicate that The Fog will have taken $12.2 million by the end of this weekend, placing it first at the weekend's box office; second place goes to Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (I'm not ashamed to say that I've been a huge fan of Wallace & Gromit for over ten years!) with $11.7 million, and third place to Elizabethtown with $11 million.
The exact results will be available on Monday afternoon - let's hope the estimates were correct!
According to the daily box office report at ShowBIZ Data, on Saturday The Fog took approximately $5.1 million; this placed it second in a virtual tie just behind Wallace & Gromit.

Wonderful news! It's always good for an actor to star in a movie that ranks #1 at the box office. And this is his first starring role, so that's even better!
