The Fog Tops Friday's Box Office

Sat October 15th 2005 @ 5:00PM - James - Tom Welling - 3 Comments

According to a preliminary daily box office ranking on the homepage of ShowBIZ Data, The Fog topped Friday's box office with a take of approximately $4.1 million; Elizabethtown followed closely in second place, with $3.8 million.

Early predictions suggested that The Fog would take somewhere in the region of $12-15 million on its opening weekend, and at this point that seems to have been a pretty accurate prediction; assuming of course that the crowds don't die back over the weekend. Most of the reviews haven't exactly been pretty, after all. I'm not sure when I'll get to see the movie myself, but as soon as I do I'll be sure to give a review of my own! I just hope I like it.

I saw The Fog last night ... it was scary-spooky at times but still an awesome movie. Everyone should go see it!

You know, when I was there last night the majority of the audience were teenagers. I honestly don't think that age group pays much attention to what critics have to say.

Oh, that's such awesome news, James! I went to the very first showing of it in my city, and the theatre was packed. The movie was great for the most part, though the ending sucked. Tom was just wonderful in it. Here's to hoping they hit the $15 million mark by Monday.
