No Teen Choice for Tom

Mon August 15th 2005 @ 7:15AM - James - Tom Welling - 7 Comments

I think I'm going to go back to my usual doom-and-gloom naysaying; every time I hope that Tom won't do something, he almost invariably does - how else do I explain him making a sequel to Cheaper By The Dozen? But then, on the rare occasions when I hope he will do something, it doesn't happen! This is highly disconcerting.

I'm a jinx, that's what I am. In any case, if you hadn't already guessed, at this point it looks like Tom wasn't at the Teen Choice Awards this year; there's a slim chance that he was there and somehow avoided the cameras, but I doubt it! And why would he be, the only award he was nominated for ("Choice TV Actor - Drama/Action Adventure") went to Smallville alumnus Adam Brody, for his performance on The O.C. Still, at least Smallville seems to be a good springboard towards greater success! Let's just hope it stays that way.

I didn't think Tom was going to win best actor (and I do like Adam Brody), but this is my spin on why I think he didn't get the award. Season 4 of Smallville was not exactly the best year for the show, so maybe people started watching other shows and didn't get to see Tom's amazing performances this year.

I'm really tired of The O.C. winning all the awards ... it's not that great a show anyway, but the second season was really boring! At least Smallville is always exciting; it deserves to win some awards here and there.

I'm also very tired of The O.C. getting all the attention. Tom really was the best in his category - he should have won this year and all the other years he didn't win!

Everyone is too caught up with Adam Brody and Chad Michael Murray. They aren't the best looking guys In my opinion, especially compared to Tom, and he's also a more believable actor than both of them. Let's just hope that this year Smallville brings more awards for its actors!

I love The O.C. despite its second season being a bit of a let-down, and I like Smallville just as much. Even though Tom didn't win any awards for his looks and his acting, it doesn't mean that the others didn't deserve them - The O.C. simply has a lot more viewers right now.

Tom's still great, awards or no awards!

Well I guess I'll just have to settle for the fact that Tom was at least nominated. I'm glad for that. I wish he could've won though ... His acting was definitely better in the fourth season. There's always next year I suppose.
