With his first movie still in post-production and awaiting release (Wrestling should be shown on the film festival circuit later this year, with a theatrical trailer scheduled for release in August), Tom's brother Mark recently began filming on his second movie, the Mythical Sluglines Productions indie feature, Circling Serita.

Mark stars as Chris, a young man left with amnesia following a wakeboarding accident. As the story unravels, Chris' memory gradually returns in bizarre flashbacks and daydreams instigated by people and objects that were once close to him. After discovering a life filled with tragedy and pain, he takes the opportunity to finally let go of his past.

The script by Adam Fox is at once powerful, humorous, and incredibly painful. I can't wait to see how the movie turns out.

Oops. ETalk Daily's intrepid Torontoan cameramen caught up with Tom and his Cheaper By The Dozen 2 co-star Bonnie Hunt once again on last night's edition of the show; however on this occasion – luckily for Tom – there were no sign posts involved!

Unfortunately, in a hefty dose of irony, it appears that the sign post would have been of enormous benefit this time around. Tom and Bonnie, in search of the perfect restaurant following their fateful trip to Sassafraz a few days earlier, were seemingly having trouble deciding in which direction they should go - and the cameras were there to capture their confusion.

I don't have the energy to argue the pros and cons of mandatory castration for the paparazzi today, so I'll dive straight in to the good part: the video clip. As always you'll need to download an up-to-date version of Quicktime Player before you can view the video.

For those in the UK with Satellite or Cable, next weekend will see the television premiere of Tom's first movie, Cheaper By The Dozen, on Sky Movies. The film will be repeated throughout the week, and the schedule is as follows up to July 8th:

Today's edition of The Insider (check your local listings for the channel and time) features an on-set interview with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt during the recent filming of a scene from Cheaper By The Dozen 2; the show's website also has a short article containing a video clip of the segment, just in case you miss it when it airs.

Tom only makes a fleeting appearance in the online video, however I'm not sure whether that clip is of the entire segment; if not there's still a slim chance that Tom may appear on the show. Either way the interviews are pretty interesting and give a few clues about the movie and its plot. Steve Martin's name-drop should raise a smile even if everything else fails to, as he wonders just how Tom is managing to cope with juggling the role of Charlie alongside his already-packed schedule. Funnily enough I've been wondering that myself.

JoBlo has a first look at the teaser poster for The Fog, featuring a ghostly, pained face arising from within said fog. Tom isn't featured other than in name – he's first in the credits – and spirit (Heh, spirit. The pun wasn't intended I promise.), but it's still pretty exciting to see just how quickly things are now starting to move on The Fog front ... oh jeez, that terrible pun wasn't intended either.

I'll just be sat here, smacking myself repeatedly around the head, and hoping that my lameness dies down sooner rather than later.

The very first promotional image of Tom and Maggie Grace has been released in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, as part of the magazine's "Must List 2005". The list contains 122 people and things that EW has loved (or assume they will love) this year, and Tom and Maggie's pairing in The Fog has made the list with a beautiful promo image by Matt Jones.

There are a few little tidbits of information included, however the image is by far the most exciting part of the article - and of course here's the link to it. The issue should be available very soon so keep an eye out for that!

Quite surprisingly, Tom wasn't one of TV Land's Top Ten Sexiest Men on last night's countdown, and likewise his Smallville co-star, John Schneider, was also missing from the list.

Unfortunately I frequently wonder just how important the results of online voting are to these shows anyway, as many of them are pre-recorded weeks in advance; judging by the final result it probably wouldn't have made much difference either way, as the results seemed – possibly as should have been expected – to skew more towards the older stars who are featured on TV Land's very own shows; things that make you go "hmmm?"

Last night Tom was shown on CTV's eTalk Daily, caught on camera enjoying a meal at Sassafraz in Yorkville, Toronto. Later he was shown walking down the street with his Cheaper By The Dozen 2 co-star, Bonnie Hunt - and accidentally smacking himself into a sign post! Ouch. I just hope Tom doesn't get grumpy when he finds out about his slightly embarrassing eSighting ...

Just in case any of you would like to view it yourself, here's the video clip. My enjoyment of the clip is tempered by my dislike of paparazzi footage, unfortunately, however here it is nonetheless; as always you'll require Quicktime Player.

Sony Pictures has just unveiled the official website for Tom's upcoming movie, The Fog. The site is blank right now, apart from a brief synopsis, but hopefully that will change soon enough! According to that synopsis:

In Revolution Studios' horror/thriller The Fog there really is something out there in the dark.

In the small town of Antonio Bay, a terrifying and malevolent force hidden within a thick and eerie fog terrorizes its residents. Shrouded by the fog lies a ghastly secret of merciless revenge, one that the town's inhabitants would do well to unravel - before it's too late.

The Zone's visit to Smallville aired earlier tonight, and Rose has been kind enough to pass along a few details from the show. If you missed it tonight, it will be repeated next Saturday, June 18th.

Tom was included on the show, as I'd expected he would be (although his segment was a pre-recorded interview from about 18 months ago rather than a new one), and he was apparently having a crazy hair day when the interview was recorded - although I have to ask, what else is new? Tom's hair is pretty crazy most days, but I like it that way! The usual questions were asked, including which superpower he would like to have, and on this occasion he replied that he would have liked to have X-ray vision a few days previously because he'd lost his car keys. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in being a klutz.

Also on the subject of Tom, Michael apparently has the song "What Is Love" as a ringtone on his phone; but ironically, that song only plays when Tom's calling! Awww, they make such a cute couple ... of course that doesn't mean Michael is above teasing him. Where Michael has (apparently) never arrived late on set, "Welling's ALWAYS late!" Oh dear, maybe he needs a better watch.

If anyone can share a video capture of the clip with me (MOV, MPG or WMV is preferred) please get in touch. I'll be away until wednesday so I won't be able to upload it for a few days, but I will get it done. And of course if any news breaks between now and wednesday you won't be hearing it here first since I won't have a 'net connection! I'm going to get withdrawal symptoms, I can sense it.

In an amusing case of "how in the?" it looks like a pretty big piece of news slipped past pretty much everyone, including me! Last Wednesday, in a "newsbites" type article, Variety finally confirmed something that I had been expecting, but not daring to confirm for fear of people playing internet-slapsies on my face - Tom will be appearing in Cheaper By The Dozen 2! These people really like to confuse me by hiding things! I'd been lead to believe that the announcement would come in a press release, much like the one that Hilary Duff received, but clearly that isn't the case; and on top of that I'd also been lead to believe that the announcement would be made weeks ago. Ah well, technicalities ...

Now we just have to wait and see how big Tom's role is. Big thanks to Pat for finding that article - I'd been scanning Variety every day and just didn't spot it; my Tomdar must be broken!

At 7:30pm on Sunday, June 12th, on Canada's youth channel YTV, The Zone will be airing a visit to the set of Smallville entitled The Zone Goes to Smallville; it's not an especially original title, but it does get the job done! The Zone's Sugar and Carlos will be going behind the scenes of the show, chatting with some of the stars ... I assume that Tom will be included, however no names are mentioned in the online description so I can't say for sure.

If anyone from Canada knows more about the show, please contact me about it. And if anyone from Canada can capture the show and pass the video along, that would be great!

Speaking of TV shows, this is as good a place as any to append the news about a slight change of schedule for the Sexiest Men edition of TV Land's Top Ten; originally scheduled to air today, June 8th, at 10pm, the show will now air next Wednesday, June 15th. I think it's fair to say that Tom will definitely be on the list (I'm only guessing, but they'd really have to be blind to not include him; I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on not being insane!) so that should be worth tuning in to. And not to beg or anything, but If anyone is willing to vidcap that and pass it along to me, let's just say that I won't say no ...

It's at times like these that I really wish I didn't live in the UK, the wonderful land of no Tom footage on the ol' picture box.

I've been receiving a number of emails over the past week pointing me towards the Internet Movie Database; Tom has recently been added to the Cheaper By The Dozen 2 cast on list on IMDb, and understandably that has left many of his fans quite excited. Whilst I do believe that Tom will probably make some sort of appearance in the movie – and said as much a few weeks ago – neither my own opinion nor IMDb's listing should be taken as absolute confirmation. For that we should all await an official press release, and if (or when) that happens I will post it up as soon as possible.

I was expecting some kind of press release to come by the end of May, and clearly that didn't happen. That estimate was based on my belief that an announcement only days before the start-date would be quite unlikely, and I'm still surprised by just how little time is now left for an announcement to be made ... so I guess I'll sit and wait just like everyone else. I'm quite bemused by the confusion surrounding this project, it has to be said.

It's yet another instance of "new" photographs - this time, however, they're not courtesy of myself but rather of Just Jared, a fantastic blog containing celebrity news and pictures. In a recent entry Jared posted a few black and white pictures of Tom; the images were apparently taken at a photoshoot with fashion photographer Michael Tammaro in New York City, about two years ago.

They're not quite up to the standard I'd usually expect from someone with the credentials of Michael Tammaro, but hey, it's Tom, and that's always a good thing! He's even showing off a smattering of chest hair, which is something I can never bring myself to complain about.
