Downtime and Updates

Thu March 31st 2005 @ 4:56PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

The site was down for a few hours earlier today due to a major meltdown at the datacenter that hosts the server; it was an unexpected and – I guess – unavoidable problem, so I'm just thankful that it didn't last any longer than it did. At least the site is still here!

Today I did some major updating to the site, including bringing the biography fully up to date and adding in some extra information thoughout; the biography will be three years old in April! It has always been a work in progress and I consider it to be one of the most important aspects of the site. I know, I can be weird.

In addition to that, I added a fantastic drawing by Jessica to the fan art section. Thanks for your submission, Jessica! If anyone else would like to submit a manipulation, drawing, or any other kind of artwork, please send me an email; I'll get your work up on the site as soon as I can.

Undeclared on DVD

Sun March 27th 2005 @ 11:07AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

In a recent message board posting the creator of Undeclared, Judd Apatow, confirmed that the show will be available on DVD in the United States later this year. According to the post – linked to by TVShowsOnDVD.com – the DVD box set will be released some time around August; included will be cast commentaries, outtakes, and much more.

Tom only appeared on the show for about 10 seconds during the pilot episode, and the likelihood of him being featured in any of the outtakes is close to zero, but still. Even 10 seconds of footage is bound to look much better in DVD quality; it may not necessarily be worth the cost of a whole box set, but we can't win 'em all!

Smallville Magazine In The United Kingdom

Fri March 18th 2005 @ 4:12PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment

The wait is almost over! Six months after it was launched in the United States last September, the UK will finally start to see Smallville Magazine on its store shelves on March 24th.

Of the most importance for those visiting this site will be an interview with Tom Welling; the press release for the magazine had this to say:

"Smallville Magazine caught up with the star of the show, Tom Welling, as he returned from his summer vacation. As season three came to an explosive end, Clark appeared friendless, fatherless, and his world was falling apart. Tom Welling talks to us about returning to the show, looking forward to playing more of Red Clark, how he'd love to play Lex Luthor, his views on flying, and why it is that trouble equals no clothes!"

Tom in Dreamwatch and More About The Fog

Mon March 7th 2005 @ 11:44AM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment

I'm a little late on this - nevermind. An interview with Tom is featured in the current issue (#127) of Dreamwatch. In response to a question about his involvement with the upcoming Superman movie, Tom replied:

"There were so many rumours out there, and it’s the kind of situation where if you speak about it you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I’d rather be damned if I don’t."

Tom's as eloquent and astutely secretive as ever; he could almost be the next James Bond! Hmmm, not a bad idea ...

Additionally, shooting on The Fog is scheduled to begin one week from now, on March 14th, in and around Vancouver. The relatively close proximity to Smallville's location will no doubt make Tom's workload a little lighter, however it's likely that he will be pulling double-duty to some degree during the next few weeks.

Thanks to Deeablo for sending along the information!
