And Then There Were Two?

It seems that Tom's younger brother, Mark, has also been bitten by the acting bug. The 24-year-old will be starring in a movie called Wrestling next year; the movie was filmed in Delaware and will probably make the rounds on the film festival circuit. The movie even has its own website, wrestlingthemovie.com, which, although lacking a cast page at the moment, does appear to have a picture of Mark on the top banner.

Apparently Mark showed the script to Tom before taking the role, and Tom gave it his thumbs up - so I guess that's good enough for me! The picture to the left was unlabeled, however from the little I know it does appear to be Mark; if it's not, I apologise. It's impossible to be right 100 percent of the time.

I don't plan on following this movie in any detail, nor to follow Mark's career – one brother has been quite enough, thanks muchly – but I thought it was an interesting bit of information nonetheless. Thanks to Laura for sending it my way!

Hello. It was brought to our attention from our webmaster that we had been receiving hits linked from this page concerning Mark Welling. We want to confirm that the photo posted IS Mark Welling, Tom Welling's younger brother. Having grown up in Delaware before moving to Michigan, both Mark and Tom attended the same school as the writer/director of the film. Mark was tapped to play Jake, the lead in Wrestling, after exhibiting a raw, natural talent and a strong connection to the character. The film is a cross between Can't Hardly Wait and the much darker Kids - stripping the gloss off the American "teen movie" and portraying suburban teenagers as they really are.

The film will be profiled in January's Filmmaker Magazine, and then make the festival circuit next summer and fall. Check the webpage on January 1st for more stills, behind-the-scenes photos, and a first-look teaser of the film.

We have no doubt that audiences will be blown away by Mark Welling's performance - and who knows, maybe one day Tom and Mark will appear in something together.

I've always liked Tom Welling but I never knew he had a brother! They're both really cute.
