Kristin Adds Her Jeans to the Mix

Tue November 30th 2004 @ 9:07PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment

I've just been informed that Kristin Kreuk, following in Tom's somewhat colossal footsteps, has also donated a pair of autographed Jeans to the Blue Jeans For Genes charity auction. The jeans that Kristin has generously donated were made by Seven For All Mankind, and are a size 26. Bidding will start on Thursday, December 2nd.

Tom's jeans, which went on sale yesterday, have so far reached a staggeringly high bid of $360.00 only one day into a ten-day auction - a price that has been matched or beaten only by the jeans that formerly belonged to Orlando Bloom and Eric Clapton. I suppose Tom must be pretty popular!

Don't Forget Bidding Starts Today!

Mon November 29th 2004 @ 12:54AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Bidding on Tom's jeans for the Blue Jeans For Genes charity auction is scheduled to start later today, November 29th, on eBay. If you'd like to support the National Hemophilia Foundation (or even if you just want to own a piece of clothing that Tom has worn), please remember to bid high! The auction is sure to be very competitive.

The auction should start at between 6 and 8pm EST, and will end on December 9th, so without further ado, good luck to everyone who takes part!

And Then There Were Two?

Mon November 29th 2004 @ 12:28AM - James - Mark Welling - 4 Comments

It seems that Tom's younger brother, Mark, has also been bitten by the acting bug. The 24-year-old will be starring in a movie called Wrestling next year; the movie was filmed in Delaware and will probably make the rounds on the film festival circuit. The movie even has its own website, wrestlingthemovie.com, which, although lacking a cast page at the moment, does appear to have a picture of Mark on the top banner.

Apparently Mark showed the script to Tom before taking the role, and Tom gave it his thumbs up - so I guess that's good enough for me! The picture to the left was unlabeled, however from the little I know it does appear to be Mark; if it's not, I apologise. It's impossible to be right 100 percent of the time.

I don't plan on following this movie in any detail, nor to follow Mark's career – one brother has been quite enough, thanks muchly – but I thought it was an interesting bit of information nonetheless. Thanks to Laura for sending it my way!

As Seen On Smallville: Jeans Information

Thu November 18th 2004 @ 9:54PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

As if the jeans that Tom donated to the Blue Jeans For Genes auction earlier this week aren't special enough already, I've been given a few more details about them.

It appears that the jeans have not simply been worn by Tom: they are one of the pairs that have actually been worn by Tom/Clark on Smallville during the last four seasons! The image to your left shows a season one promotional image of Tom wearing a pair that are very similar to those – or possibly even the actual pair – that he donated. The jeans appear to be Diesel "Kratt", and are stonewash blue with a 34-inch waist and 34-inch inseam. The back label has been removed, I assume to avoid unauthorised advertising of the brand.

If you have any questions about the auction, please don't hesitate to contact me; If I don't have the answer, I'll forward your question to Paul at the NHF and get back to you as soon as possible.

Details About Tom's Blue Jeans For Genes Donation

Wed November 17th 2004 @ 7:04PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Images have now been uploaded to the Blue Jeans For Genes website of the autographed jeans that Tom recently donated - the jeans only arrived yesterday! The jeans Tom donated are a well-worn pair of regular fit Diesel stonewash.

Remember, the auction starts on eBay on November 29th; please bid high, it's for a great cause - and of course the item itself isn't too shabby either!

Tom's Jeans in "Blue Jeans for Genes" Auction

Tue November 16th 2004 @ 11:39PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

I've just been informed that Tom has donated a signed pair of jeans to the 2nd Annual Celebrity Blue Jeans for Genes auction, that will raise money for the National Hemophilia Foundation. The auction will take place on eBay from November 29th through to December 9th, and will feature many other celebrities besides Tom.

According to the press release:

"The jeans are hot and one-of-a-kind, and the winning bid goes to benefit the National Hemophilia Foundation's work to find a cure for the millions of people who live with bleeding disorders and help improve the lives of those still suffering with them.

So, if you're looking for a great way to be close to Tom Welling, how much closer can you get than a pair of jeans? OK, well, maybe there are a few other things but that a whole other kind of auction! It's also a great way to support a cause that Tom Welling supports, and an awesome gift idea!!! We want to make sure Tom Welling makes a good showing in the auction!"

Thanks to Paul Kelly from the NHF for letting me know about this; and my thanks go to Tom and the other participants for supporting such a worthy cause.

New Smallville Screen Saver

Tue November 16th 2004 @ 9:31PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

The WB has released a new Smallville screen saver for PC users, featuring promotional images from the show's fourth season; the screen saver includes images of Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, Jensen Ackles, Erica Durance, and Allison Mack. A version for Macintosh users should be available soon.

If you'd like to use the new screen saver on your system, head over to The WB's Smallville downloads page to download the installer file.

Smallville Season Three DVD

Tue November 16th 2004 @ 8:34PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Unfortunately it appears that Tom is not featured prominently on any of the "extras" included on the DVD release of Smallville: The Complete Third Season. Tom is absent from each of the cast and crew commentaries – Michael Rosenbaum, John Glover, and Allison Mack each took part and gave some great soundbites – and none of the clips included in the gag reel feature Tom.

This is a disappointment, as Tom's commentary on the season two set was a huge success; his Gollum impression during the commentary for 'Red' was particularly impressive! In addition, his impromptu skits on the season two gag reel gave an insight into his personality that has been sorely lacking. All I can suggest is that everyone keeps their fingers crossed for Tom making more of an impact on the season four release, which probably won't be available until this time next year at the very earliest.

If you haven't yet ordered your copy of the DVD from Amazon.com, doing so through TomWelling.org has the added benefit of helping to support the site.

'Scare' Episode Stills at KryptonSite

Tue November 16th 2004 @ 6:23PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

KryptonSite recently added a number of episode stills from Smallville episode #4.10, 'Scare', currently scheduled to be broadcast on December 1st. The images contain some pretty big spoilers for the episode, so don't look if you don't want to know what happens.

Unfortunately there's only one still of Clark, but still, that's better than none! Head over to view KryptonSite's 'Scare' gallery.

New "Kryptonite Sweeper" Game at The WB

Wed November 10th 2004 @ 3:38PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Everyone needs some relaxation and fun every now and then, and if you're a fan of "Minesweeper", one of those games that appears to be ubiquitous to installations of Microsoft Windows, the WB may have the answer to your game-playing needs.

TheWB.com has just launched "Kryptonite Sweeper", identical to the Microsoft version in virtually every way except one: Rather than avoiding mines, you're avoiding a chunk of kryptonite the size of which would make Clark Kent turn very sickly! The game requires an up-to-date installation of Flash Player, but if you have that you're all set!

These games are strangely addictive ...

Tom "Hottie of the Month" in J-14

Tue November 9th 2004 @ 7:32PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment

Tom is featured in the December 2004 issue of J-14 magazine as this month's "Hottie of the Month". The feature includes an image of Tom as well as a short article; I haven't yet found out which image is in the magazine, or what the article says, so if you have a copy of the magazine and can let me know, I'd really appreciate it!

Update: Matty has let me know that the image alongside the article is that to your left, by Tony Duran from a shoot two years ago. The article is apparently very short and reveals nothing new - snippets of old interviews are used, including Kristin's comment about Tom being obsessed with eating blackberries.

Thanks Matty!

As always, if you know of any other magazines that feature Tom at the moment, please contact me with the details.

New Interview at The WB

Tue November 2nd 2004 @ 8:00PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

A new interview with Tom has been posted up over at the WB's website; on the subject of having his likeness recreated in action figure form, Tom responds: "I don't think one is ever prepared for something like that. But, it's fun. I hope it's durable."

To read more of what Tom has to say, including his motto for season four, head over to the TheWB.com.

Smallville Season Four Promotional Images

Tue November 2nd 2004 @ 8:56AM - James - Tom Welling - 13 Comments

With a bit of fancy footwork I've managed to get hold of small copies of a few more promotional images from Smallville's fourth season. The images are pretty tiny, but I don't think that detracts from them too much - the watermark on them is unfortunately far more likely to detract from them, however I didn't have much choice other than to tag them; I'm sorry about that.

If you've enjoyed these images, why not leave a comment about them? Who knows, I might get hold of a few more at some point.

Episode Stills from 'Spell' at KryptonSite

Mon November 1st 2004 @ 3:43AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments

Craig over at KryptonSite has just posted two new episode stills from episode #4.08, 'Spell'. The images are a little spoilery, as you will probably have expected, and also a little racy - which you might not have expected!

One of the images is posted at a small teaser size to your left, but to view both images at their full size and in all their glory, you should visit KryptonSite's 'Spell' gallery. Be warned, these images are not for the weak of heart! As shallow as I am, I'm enjoying the direction the show appears to be headed in immensely.
