Smallville Marathon on ABC Family
Thu September 30th 2004 @ 7:56PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
It's had plenty of coverage elsewhere, and somehow I still managed to forget to mention it - special thanks to Trish and Marites for reminding me!
Don't miss the six-hour-long Smallville marathon that will be airing on ABC Family this coming Saturday, October 2nd, from 2pm. The marathon will contain episodes from each of the first three seasons, including the Pilot episode and fan favourite 'Heat'.
After the marathon, at 8pm, stay tuned in for an hour-long exclusive Backstage Special, featuring all-new interviews with the cast of the show.
And as if that wasn't enough, the marathon and Backstage Special are only the start! Smallville will begin airing daily on ABC Family from Monday, October 4th.
Tom Confirmed to Appear on The View
Tue September 28th 2004 @ 7:16PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment
It's better late than never, as they always say. I've just received word from Pat that Tom is scheduled to make his third appearance on ABC's The View on Monday, October 11th. A little note to Tom: Please don't wear the shirt that you wore to the WB Upfronts this year - the brown corduroy jacket is much better!
The appearance has been confirmed by TV Guide, so make sure to set your VCR or DVR as Tom's past appearances on the The View have been quite enlightening.
As always, if you find out that Tom will be appearing on any other shows and the news isn't posted here already, please contact me and let me know!

With the official release only a day away – although some have probably found it in stores already – this is probably the last selection of interview material from the first issue of Smallville Magazine, once again with special thanks to Titan Magazines.
So what are you waiting for? Read the Tom Welling interview excerpts.

Once again with special thanks to Titan Magazines, I have some brief interview excerpts from the interview with Tom Welling that is featured both inside and on the cover of the first issue of Smallville Magazine, which is now only four days away from its official release in the US.
Which other character would Tom like to play? What does he feel about the increasing loss of clothing on the show? Read the interview excerpts to find out!

To promote the debut of Smallville's fourth season, today at 8pm, the WB has released a new promotional image of Tom; the image can be viewed by clicking the thumbnail to your left.
In addition to the image of Tom, images of the other cast members have also been released to coincide with the season premiere, and those can be found over at KryptonSite.
Smallville Magazine Press Release and Excerpt
Tue September 21st 2004 @ 5:56PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
With special thanks to Ricky and Titan Magazines, I'm able to give you a sneak peek at aspects of the first issue of Smallville Magazine, scheduled for nationwide release in the United States on September 28th.
In addition to excerpts from an interview with Al Gough, one of Smallville's executive producers, there is also a press release about the magazine, featuring details of where the magazine can be obtained – including yearly subscriptions to have the magazine delivered directly to your door – and how you can sign up for the new Smallville Magazine ezine.
Where is Tom?
Tue September 21st 2004 @ 1:27PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment
With a little over 36 hours until the fourth season premiere of Smallville in the United States, tomorrow at 8pm on the WB, and with publicity for the show already in full swing, in past years those of you in the US and Canada would be sitting down in a few hours to view one of Tom's rare guest appearances - but seemingly not this year.
So why isn't Tom on a whirlwind press tour as he was in anticipation of the past two seasons? With the schedules for the usual suspects, Regis And Kelly, The View, and TRL, remarkably Tom-free, right now your guess as to the reason is as good as mine. All I can suggest is that everyone keep their fingers crossed for some good news!
Official 2004 Smallville Yearbook in UK
Wed September 15th 2004 @ 1:30PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
Hot on the heels of the terrestrial debut of Smallville's third season on Channel 4 at the beginning of this month, Titan Magazines will be releasing the Official 2004 Smallville Yearbook in the UK on September 16th. Packed with the same content as the US release – detailed in a previous news story – the yearbook contains over 100 pages of information about the show. And if that isn't enough, Titan will also be releasing a monthly Smallville magazine in the UK in spring 2005, bringing you news, interviews, and behind-the-scenes secrets.
The Official 2004 Smallville Yearbook will have a cover price of £4.99, and will be available from WHSmiths and all other good magazine retailers.
Computer Problems
Wed September 15th 2004 @ 10:06AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
Due to an impromptu – of course they're never anything but impromptu – hard drive crash, I won't be able to make as many updates over the next few weeks as I had previously been doing. Luckily all of my files are safely stored on an external hard drive, however one of those is no use if you don't have a working computer to access the external hard drive with! Any emails sent to me over the past week will most likely have been lost, so if you contacted me about anything important please send your email again as soon as possible.
This couldn't have come at a worse time with the fourth season of Smallville only a week away, and as such I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on the situation whenever I have access to a computer; as I evidently do at the moment.
Rare Images in Series Mag
Fri September 10th 2004 @ 12:01PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
The September/October issue (n°29) of Series Mag, a French magazine well-known for frequently using rare images, contains two pictures from back when Tom was modelling in Europe for Louisa Models. The first image appears to be previously unseen – by those outside of modelling circles, at least – and the second is from a shoot that many of you will probably be quite familiar with already, the "green" shoot that was once featured in the TomWelling.org design. If you live in France or anywhere else where this magazine is available, I highly recommend that you pick up a copy.
If you have noticed that Tom is in any magazines where you live, please let me know!
Smallville Magazine On Sale Soon
Wed September 8th 2004 @ 2:30PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
The first issue of the new Smallville magazine is scheduled to go on sale in the US on September 28th, shortly after the start of the show's fourth season, with a release in the UK currently scheduled for early next year. I hope to have more information about the magazine in the next few days, however for now hopefully the teaser advertisement to your left will suffice.
The release is now only three weeks away, and with pages packed full of interviews, articles, and exclusive images, it will have been worth the wait!
Tom Ranks #15 in Teen People's "50 Sexiest Guys"
Wed September 8th 2004 @ 1:58PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment
In the October issue of Teen People, out now, Tom is featured at #15 in the rundown of the 50 sexiest guys - not a bad ranking when you consider the lack of coverage Tom has previously had in the magazine! According to the magazine, "This former model has the dreamiest eyes coupled with the sexiest biceps on the planet."
Which begs the question: If Tom has the dreamiest eyes and the sexiest biceps, how come he didn't rank higher?
In addition to the image to your left, the magazine also contains a fold-out copy of the new Smallville promotional poster, so it's definitely worth picking up a copy of the magazine if it's available in your area.
Clip of Tom on The WB Insider
Mon September 6th 2004 @ 12:28PM - James - Tom Welling - 1 Comment
With many thanks to Eisa, who was kind enough to take video captures of Tom's segments on the WB's Insider special, I've been able to put together a Quicktime video containing each of those short segments.
Download the video of Tom on The WB Insider special [4.50MB]
You will require an up-to-date version of Quicktime Player to view the video clip, and you should click on the download link normally rather than saving it to disk - if you save the link to disk you will not have saved the video!
In addition this is a very large media file, so please only click the download link once; the video will be saved to your hard drive for repeat viewing.
Catch Tom on The WB Insider
Thu September 2nd 2004 @ 9:36PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
Over the next ten days, through to September 12th, the WB network in the United States will be airing a new edition of The WB Insider, an occasional special giving behind the scenes interviews and insights into both new and current shows on the WB. The show will include interviews with many of the network's leading men, including Tom Welling, wherein they speak about how they're handling their current status, success and popularity.
More information about the special can be found over on the TheWB.com; exact air dates and times may vary depending on your area, so be sure to check your local TV listing to find out when you can catch it!
Tom as X-Ray?
Wed September 1st 2004 @ 10:14PM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
In a flattering comment to Moviehole, Sam Park, the screenwriter of a new comic-book film entitled X-Ray, has stated that he thinks "Welling would be spot-perfect as X-Ray." To read the whole article you should head over to the news page at Moviehole.
Regardless of which movies Tom ends up doing in the future, it's safe to say that he's becoming quite popular – for obvious reasons – in superhero movie circles.
New Smallville Promo Poster at The WB
Wed September 1st 2004 @ 7:44AM - James - Tom Welling - 0 Comments
The WB has just published a PDF locker poster of the fantastic new promotional poster for Smallville's fourth season; a season that is now only three weeks away for those of you who live in the United States and Canada. Soon to be plastered all over billboards and magazine covers, the image is a striking and imposing teaser for the upcoming season ... to quote KryptonSite and so many others, "you will believe".
The poster can be downloaded from the WB's downloads page, and you may need to install a copy of Adobe Reader before you can view it.
Update: At the request of a couple of visitors who were unable to view the PDF file, you can now download a high quality JPG copy of the poster from TomWelling.org; large images require the use of a lot of server resources, so please only download this file if you are unable to view the PDF.
